My Daily Struggle Against Intrusive Thoughts.

Some days, my brain feels like an enemy I can’t escape.

Before I even get out of bed, it throws thoughts at me I never asked for. Ugly, scary, uncomfortable thoughts that don’t belong to me—but somehow stick to me like glue.

That’s what intrusive thoughts are like. They show up uninvited. They make you question who you are. And the worst part? They make you feel ashamed for even having them.

But here’s the thing I’ve learned the hard way:

💡 Thoughts are not facts.

Just because my brain says something doesn’t make it true. It doesn’t define me. It doesn’t mean I want it, believe it, or agree with it. It’s just noise—sometimes deafening noise.

Every day, I practice living with that noise.

I ground myself by feeling my feet on the floor.

I remind myself to breathe.

I tell a friend, “I’m struggling today,” instead of hiding it.

And sometimes, I even laugh at how ridiculous my mind can be.

It’s not about “winning” against intrusive thoughts. It’s about surviving them, living with them, and slowly realizing they don’t control me.

And if you’ve ever had intrusive thoughts—please hear me: you are not broken, you are not dangerous, and you are not alone.

Every single day I choose to keep going is proof that intrusive thoughts don’t get the final say. And that choice? That’s my quiet victory.
